Now its just getting stupid..

Still havent set up the sound system.  I was going about it, moving the ps3 into its new area, cutting wires, measuring, and then got slapped in the face by the subwoofer.  It wanted RCA cables, not speaker wires like I expected.  Thats fine, but now I need to move it to the other side of the room where the receiver is so the cable can reach and save myself paying for another long cable at stupid prices.  Still annoyed the receiver is on the floor.   I'd love to move a few things around but I'm at a loss where I would relocate them, so its basically suffer them where they are.  My floor is totally covered in cables and other crap.  I need to seriously sort everything out tomorrow.

What I need is to find a new job so I can save up and build the underside of the house and then be able to create a room with the size and spacing I need.  I dont know when it'll happen but I swear its going to.  Once I'm done with this thing I'll be able to focus on other stuff.  Like writing up some ideas for that comic I want to start with jed and running them by him to see what he thinks.  I might have plenty of free time now since I'm not working but he's still very busy with his own job.  I'm not exactly sure where well be putting the comic up actually..   We might just create a new page and use that. Jesus my rooms a mess.  I cant stand having a messy room.  This shits being sorted tomorrow. But for now its time to catch up on The Big Bang Theory.  I'm a little behind.  Gotta catch up so I can get back to stargate universe.  You know that annoying feeling of having all your days free, yet theres still not enough time in them to do all this 7month backlog of crap that my job kept me away from.  And football manager 2011 is out this friday.  I'm so screwed..

For now heres a cool art piece of Galactus I found the other day.  Very awesome.

  1. I empathize. One month of semester break and somehow I didn't get through any of the movies I planned to watch, the grand total being at 61. At this rate, I'll never be able to finish that list. Everytime the days just fly by and at the end of it all you sit and wonder: "What the hell have I been doing?"

  2. I hate it when you can't watch what you want too, bugs me because someone will usually spoil it before I eventually get to see it, also liking the galactus pic, where'd you find it?

  3. Friend linked it to me. Some art site, didnt really take much notice of the place. And I wish my tally of movies was just 61. I've been grabbing a bunch of scifi films from the 70s and 80s since I'm a massive scifi whore, and to be honest those years had some amazing movies. If you can ignore the budget special effects and yuo dont mind stage type acting, then theres some absolute gems out there. I mean for example films like 2001, Alien, Bladerunner, Solaris, all of those were in the 70s or late 60s. And theres so many more. Bladerunner was 82, but you get the idea. Legendary films. Love them to death.

  6. Hey my name is Con! I buy this awesome sound system and show it to Jed. He totally wants it. I'll rub it in his face more by not bothering to hook it up!

    ..... >:(

  7. Could you use a small end table to get the reciever off of the floor? Have you thought of binding the cables together with zip ties, or something similar, once everything's working properly?

Big Bang Theory is a great show, although I haven't watched it or any other TV in a long time. Other than The Amazing Race.

Also, Jed's comment made me laugh. If you set it up you could rub it in his face even more.

  8. Yeah all those ideas went through my head about the cable management, but sadly no table. I searched the net for ones I'd like and there were some awesome smallish atrsy style glass ones but they were like $300-400 and I cant justify that.

Poor jed. I'll give him a flower.

  9. 61 is the number of movies I physically own. The movies that I've marked as 'want to watch so bad' date to the birth of cinema. I really really want to watch those old, black-and-white silent movies that only critics seem to know about. Yeah call me elitist, but they intrigue me. Blame this short film 'Le chien andalou' that started this old-ass movies fever for me. So stage type acting and bad effects don't faze me at all. XP I agree about sci fi movies from the 70s and 80s. Sci fi was just simply better made when they were a novelty. Soylent Green, Solyaris, and stretching a bit further to the original Clash of the Titans (which I liked better than the remake). Did you watch Metropolis though? My favourite zombie movie though is Shaun of the Dead, just for the hilarity factor.

Awww Mr. Jed, here have a cookie! =P

  10. Yeah saw Metropolis years ago. I still plan to grab the bluray and see the extra stuff. I liked Shaun of the dead but I wasnt happy with the second half of the film. It started off as a comedy and then went into pure serious emotion acting. I didnt like that transition. Hot Fuzz is easily his best one. And the bluray has a shit tonne of extras on it its amazing.

I also grew up on some black and white films. Stage acting is something people dont seem to appreciate now days. I dont see it as elitist either but more as a different type of entertainment. Theres a certain magic about it. I think the 50s were probably the best years for movies. To be honest its hard to tell. So many amazing things came out between 50s-70s.

  11. I didn't mind that transition a lot since it kind of made sense with the plot and it being a zombie apocalypse where it's all fun and games (if you have a sick mind) till someone gets his guts ripped out. Hot Fuzz!! That's a movie I love to bits and can never get enough of watching - best Frost/Pegg and cop parody movie ever. Wish I had enough dough to own a bluray player though. I can't wait till their new one, Paul comes out. :D

The 50s was the decade that many of the great classics came out, no? That decade was just magical for me. It's like almost everyone in the movie industry had quality brainstorms. And in Europe filmmakers were doing their own experimental stuff. So much good stuff to watch from the 50s and 60s. In fact I don't think there's a decade in movies that I don't love (except probably the 90s, but then again the 90s gave us some pretty awesome stuff too. I guess I just don't like the commercialised cheesiness I always associate with that era. The 70s and 80s cheesiness was charming, the 90s was not. Well at least that's what I think.)
